Retired ITE lecturer created another genius contraption: a hoverboard wheelchair

Genius retired ITE lecturer Tan Ban Ho is still inventing β€” and his latest creation is a hoverboard wheelchair.

Tan Ban Ho retired from the Institute of Technical Education years ago β€” but the man's tinkering hasn't slowed. His latest project: a hoverboard wheelchair that lets users glide rather than push.

Lifeline supports inventors and clinicians who are pushing the field forward. Sometimes that means distributing their finished products. Sometimes it means giving them factory feedback, prototyping resources, or a route into hospital procurement they couldn't reach alone.

It's a reminder that the best healthcare equipment doesn't come from a corporate R&D pipeline. It comes from people who know the problem intimately β€” patients, families, retired engineers β€” and refuse to accept "this is how it's always been done."
